Research

Our research focuses on geodynamic processes in oceanic domains, involving different scales of observation and spanning different time scales.  In addition, we develop original methodology and instrumentation adapted to deep-sea exploration and coastal studies.

 Geo-hazards

Our group focuses its research on studying geological deformation over short time span in various geodynamical contexts (rift and mi-oceanic ridges, passive margins, subduction zones).

 Sedimentology & biodiversity

We study the mechanisms of transfer, erosion and accumulation of sediments along continental margins, and the impacts of climatic, oceanic or tectonic events on the evolution of margins and associated ecosystems.

 Dynamics & heterogeneities

This heterogeneous but, nonetheless, dynamic group combines geophysicists, geochemists and geologists to investigate the dynamics of internal solid Earth, at small and large scales.

 Methodology & instrumentation

Our research focus is here on developping original methods for the inversion and interpretation of geophysical data as well as original instrumentation for acquiring data in the fields of electromagnetics, hydroacoustics, and imagery at sea or on land.
